HALL I - KRISHNA-19

The suffering of all creatures because of the rays
of the autumn sun was taken away by the moon
like the suffering, based on the false identification
with the body or with [the missing of] Mukunda -
as the ladies of Vraja do -, is driven away by wisdom.
[
SB, 10-20]

De koele maan verlichtte 't leed
Verwekt door 't laaien van de zon
Als kennis 't Maya-leed en Krishn'
Het leed van Vraja's vrouwendrom

On a grass patch sat the bulls, ruminating with their eyes closed, with
the calves and the cows tired by the weight of their milkbags.
To see the riches of the rainy season, that had expanded from His
internal potency, always gave the Supreme Lord pleasure and made
 Him offer His respects. [
SB, 10-20]

Toen d' Alvervuld' in 't malse gras
De kudde stil genietend zag
Herkauwen met de kijkers dicht,
De zware uiers tjokvol zog ...

En t'jaargetij in al zijn pracht,
Die ieder schepsel steeds verblijdt,
Verhoogd door Zijn verheven macht,
Ging heel Zijn hart naar alles uit.

Thus hearing the words of Nanda about what Garga had said
worshiped the residents of Vraja, enlivened by Nanda and with their
 perplexity gone, Lord Krishna.  [
SB, 10-26]

Toen 't herdersvolk aldus vernam
Wat Garga had geopenbaard
En 't weer aan Krishna's daden dacht,
Zo groot en ongeevenaard,
Prees 't Vader Nanda en zijn Zoon,
Want alles was nu opgeklaard.

With a peacock feather on His head,
with the body of the best of dancers,
a blue karnikâra lotus behind His ears,
wearing golden yellow colored garments and [decorated]
with the vaijayanti garland
['of victory' with flowers of five different colors],
filled He the holes of His flute with the nectar
from His lips as He entered Vrindâvana forest
so enchanting of His footprints while His glories
were being sung by the group of cowherds. [
SB, 10-21]

Zo zagen ze 'M: met pauweveer in 't haar,
[ 'n Danser, bloemen om d' oren;
Als vloeibaar goud sloot de zijd' om Zijn lijf;

S'rî S'uka said:
Thus pleading was Lord Krishna by Surabhi with her own milk
and the Ganges water flowing from heaven carried by Airâvata's trunk,
by Indra in the company of the enlightened
and the seers and by the inspired mothers
of the gods [the daughters of Aditi], bathed
and was the descendent of Das'ara named Lord Govinda. [
SB, 10-27]

Zo sprak Surabhi, waarop zij
De Heer baadd' in haar eigen melk.
Op wens van de godinnenschaar,
Door alle wijzen vergezeld ...

Liet Indra toen Airavat's slurf
Een hemel-Ganges-waterstraal
Op Krishna neerspuiten en zei:
"Govinda is Uw Naam, Gopâl'."

Even to me o Krishna, o You who sees everything,
please, be of mercy, o Govinda;
to You, so caring for Your parents,
belongs definitely this one that is Your father.'

[
SB, 10-28]

Verleen mij, Heer die alles ziet,
Toch Uw genade alstublieft ...
Govinda, neem Uw vader weer,
Gij hebt hem immers innig lief?
